Lampung – Wednesday (30/10/2024) – The Association of Islamic Education Management Study Programs (PPMPI) Indonesia successfully held its Annual Meeting 2024 with the engaging theme, "Revitalization of the OBE (Outcome-Based Education) Curriculum in Strengthening MBKM in the Islamic Education Management Study Program." The three-day event took place at Hotel Emersia, Bandar Lampung, from October 29 to 31, 2024, serving as a strategic forum for various stakeholders to collaborate in enhancing the quality of Islamic education through a curriculum based on learning outcomes and independent learning.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Sri Rahmi, M.A., Chairperson of PPMPI, emphasized the importance of collaboration to strengthen the Islamic Education Management study programs in Indonesia. “PPMPI is here to connect academics, practitioners, and educational leaders to build a quality foundation for Islamic education that meets the demands of the times and is relevant to the workforce,” she stated. This annual meeting not only serves as a platform for academic gatherings but also marks a collective commitment to making significant contributions to improving education quality at both national and global levels.
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to attend a seminar focused on the revitalization of the OBE curriculum to support the implementation of MBKM. Experts were invited to discuss how an outcome-based approach can produce graduates who are exceptional and ready to adapt to modern challenges. Additionally, The 6th Annual Conference on Islamic Education Management (ACIEM) provided a venue for academics to publish their research findings, facilitating a broader dissemination of knowledge and opening up opportunities for research collaboration among universities.
The event was also highlighted by the presentation of awards to outstanding figures in the field of Islamic Education Management. Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., Vice Rector III of Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA), received an award for being an Internationally Reputable Article Writer, a recognition that further strengthens UNUJA's credibility on the international stage. Similar awards were given to Dr. Abu Hasan Agus R, M.Pd.I., Head of the Master's Program in Islamic Education Management at UNUJA, for successfully maintaining the quality of the accredited Superior Islamic Education Management Study Program (S1).
At the conclusion of the event, PPMPI Indonesia also reinforced its collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Master's Program in Islamic Education Management at UNUJA. Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the activities, with many expressing that the event provided significant benefits for enhancing their knowledge and skills in managing outcome-based Islamic education.
This event not only yielded positive impacts internally by strengthening synergy among study programs but also externally by introducing an OBE curriculum that is more responsive to social changes and industry needs.
With the commitment and synergy built during this event, PPMPI Indonesia is expected to lead in innovations in Islamic education across the country. The outcomes of this annual meeting are anticipated to spur the development of Islamic education that is not only deeply rooted in spiritual values but also adaptive and highly competitive in facing global challenges.
