Samarinda — A senior leader of Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) has once again demonstrated his contribution at the national level. The Vice Rector III for Research and Publication of UNUJA, Prof. Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., was appointed as the keynote speaker in a public lecture entitled “Human Resource Talent Mapping Based on the Genetic Potential of Blood Types”, organized by Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris (UINSI) Samarinda.
The event was held at the 3rd Floor Hall of the Rectorate Building of UINSI Samarinda on Thursday (July 9), featuring two distinguished speakers: Prof. Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd. as the first speaker, and the Director of Golda Institute, Eva Dipanti Tomba, S.Pd., as the second speaker.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Rector for General Administration, Planning, and Finance (AUPK) of UINSI Samarinda, Prof. Dr. Zamroni, M.Pd., accompanied by the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Dr. Akhmad Muadin, M.Pd., emphasized that this activity plays a strategic role in enhancing the quality of human resource management within higher education institutions. He highlighted that talent mapping is a crucial step in ensuring that individuals can develop in accordance with their respective potentials and competencies.
“Through this activity, it is expected that all educational staff will gain a deeper understanding of their personal potential, enabling them to contribute optimally to institutional performance,” he stated.
During the presentation session, Prof. Hasan Baharun emphasized the importance of a meritocratic approach in human resource development. He explained that every employee is inherently a talented asset that requires proper management to achieve optimal growth.
“The right man in the right place.” He further elaborated, “Talent is essentially a latent potential possessed by every individual. The capacity to grow and to lead in the future has become an increasingly essential necessity in today’s context.”

Furthermore, he explained that within higher education, talent mapping offers broad benefits, including improving organizational effectiveness, strengthening competency-based leadership systems, and fostering a professional and character-driven work culture. In addition, this approach serves as a foundation for strategic policy-making, particularly in the career development of lecturers and administrative staff.
The event was attended by educational staff from various units within UINSI Samarinda, who actively participated and showed strong enthusiasm throughout the sessions.
As a follow-up to the institutional collaboration between UINSI Samarinda and UNUJA, this activity provides tangible benefits for both institutions. For UINSI Samarinda, the public lecture represents a concrete step toward enhancing meritocracy- and potential-based human resource management, thereby fostering a more effective and competitive organizational system. Meanwhile, for UNUJA, the involvement of one of its senior leaders as a keynote speaker reinforces the institution’s role in academic dissemination and expands its national academic network.
This collaboration is expected to continue through various human resource development programs, joint research initiatives, and other academic activities that contribute directly to the improvement of higher education quality in Indonesia.
