Probolinggo — A remarkable academic achievement has once again been demonstrated by students of Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) through their successful participation in the prestigious international scientific forum, the 11th Indonesian Students' International Conference (KIPI) 2026, which will be held on July 13–14, 2026, in Sydney, Australia. This accomplishment serves as concrete evidence that UNUJA students are capable of competing and contributing meaningfully within the global academic landscape.

One of the awardees, Dwi Cahyo Utomo, has been accepted as an Accepted Research Paper Presenter and selected as an oral presenter in the Research Paper category. His study, entitled “Eco-Islamic Coastal Stewardship Education for Madrasah Students in Probolinggo: Toward Climate Resilience and Coastal Sustainability,” proposes an innovative educational approach grounded in Islamic values and integrated with ecological awareness to foster climate resilience in coastal areas.

Equally noteworthy, Veny Eka Yogawati has been accepted as an Accepted Policy Brief Presenter and will also serve as an oral presenter in the Policy Brief category. Her work, entitled “Transforming Coastal Madrasahs Into Eco-Islamic Stewardship Learning Hubs for Climate Resilience in Probolinggo,” advances a strategic framework for transforming coastal madrasahs into adaptive learning hubs rooted in eco-Islamic stewardship to address the challenges of global climate change.

The Director of the Postgraduate Program of UNUJA, Dr. H. Akmal Mundiri, M.Pd., expressed profound pride in this outstanding achievement. He emphasized that this success represents not only an individual accomplishment but also a collective pride for the entire postgraduate academic community. “This achievement demonstrates that our students are capable of bringing local insights into a global perspective. Internally, it strengthens our academic culture, enhances research quality, and motivates other students to excel. Externally, it reinforces UNUJA’s position at both national and international levels as a dynamic and progressive institution,” he stated.

This accomplishment is also inseparable from the strategic role of the academic supervisor, Dr. Mona Novita, M.Pd., Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Education. With dedication, patience, and academic rigor, she guided the students from the initial stage of idea formulation, through conceptual development, to the international selection process. This long and rigorous journey reflects a mature academic process characterized by perseverance and scholarly commitment.

Dr. Mona Novita also conveyed her pride in the achievements of her mentees. She highlighted that this success is the result of hard work, strong commitment, and effective synergy between students and supervisor. “Seeing them elevate local issues into global discourse is a source of immense pride. It indicates that our students possess the capacity to actively contribute to international academic discussions,” she remarked.

Participation in this international conference provides significant benefits for students’ capacity development, both academically and in terms of global exposure. It enables them to broaden their perspectives, expand international networks, and enhance their confidence in engaging within global scholarly forums.

Looking ahead, Universitas Nurul Jadid is expected to continue producing adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive intellectuals. This achievement represents a strategic step toward realizing UNUJA’s vision as a center for knowledge development grounded in pesantren values, capable of making meaningful contributions to society, the nation, and the international community.
