Postgraduate Lecturer Becomes Resource Person at the "Mastering Excellence" Workshop at UIN Malang

Malang, August 21, 2024 – Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., a lecturer from the Postgraduate Program at Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA), was invited as a resource person for the "Mastering Excellence: Improving the Quality of Reputable Journal Reviewers" workshop organized by the Scientific Publication Center - Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The event took place on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in the Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of Campus 1 at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.

The workshop aimed to enhance the reviewers' skills in assessing and reviewing scientific articles according to international standards, which is a critical part of maintaining the quality of reputable journals. The event commenced at 09:00 AM WIB and was attended by lecturers and researchers from various faculties at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.

Prof. Dr. H. Agus Maimun, M.Pd., the head of LP2M UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, emphasized the importance of proper journal management to support academic achievements in higher education during his opening remarks. "Scientific journals reflect our academic quality. Therefore, the quality of reviewers significantly determines the quality of the publications we produce," said Prof. Agus Maimun.

As a resource person, Dr. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., provided an in-depth presentation on the role of reviewers in maintaining the integrity of scientific publications. He explained the techniques and ethics that reviewers should possess when evaluating articles, ensuring that the resulting publications have a positive impact on the advancement of knowledge.

"Reviewers are not just evaluators; they are quality guardians. This role requires special expertise and a commitment to high academic standards and ethics," explained Dr. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd. He also emphasized the importance of transparency and objectivity in the review process.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session where participants actively engaged in discussions and posed questions directly to the resource person. This activity is expected to strengthen reviewers' abilities in evaluating scientific articles and enhance the quality of journals managed by UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.
