UNUJA Holds a Socialization on Regulations and Effective Strategies for Accelerating Academic Promotion of Lecturers

Paiton, October 25, 2025 — Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) continues to strengthen its commitment to enhancing the quality and excellence of human resources, particularly among its academic staff. As a tangible manifestation of this commitment, UNUJA’s Postgraduate Program organized an event entitled “Regulations and Effective Strategies for Accelerating Academic Promotion of Lecturers,” held at the 3rd-floor Auditorium of Building G, Postgraduate Campus, on Saturday (October 25, 2025).

In his opening remarks, the Rector of UNUJA, Dr. KH. Najiburrahman, M.A., M.Pd., emphasized that the program aimed to provide comprehensive insights to lecturers regarding the regulations, mechanisms, and effective strategies to accelerate their academic promotion. He highlighted that academic promotion is not only related to individual career advancement but also forms an integral part of realizing UNUJA’s vision of being Impactful, Excellent, Quality-Oriented, and Prosperous. “By strengthening lecturers’ competencies and career progression, we are building excellent human resources that will significantly contribute to educational quality and institutional advancement,” he stated.

The event featured Muhammad Aziz Hakim, M.H., Head of Sub-Directorate for Academic Personnel at the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, he elaborated in detail on the legal foundations of academic positions, administrative requirements, and the importance of aligning one’s expertise with the academic assessment criteria. Delivered in a systematic and practical manner, his explanation offered clear and applicable guidance for lecturers in understanding the strategic steps necessary to expedite the promotion process in accordance with the latest regulations. The event was also attended by Vice Rector I and Vice Rector III of UNUJA, who expressed their full support for the university’s ongoing lecturer development initiatives.

A total of 30 lecturers from various faculties across Universitas Nurul Jadid participated enthusiastically in the event. Participants expressed that the session was highly beneficial, providing practical and inspiring insights for academic career development. It is expected that this initiative will accelerate the number of lecturers achieving higher functional ranks, such as Lektor and Lektor Kepala, thereby strengthening UNUJA’s position as a pesantren-based university that excels in academic quality and national competitiveness.

Beyond its internal benefits, the event also fosters stronger synergy between Islamic higher education institutions and the Ministry of Religious Affairs in developing a higher education ecosystem that is professional, transparent, and focused on advancing the quality of academic human resources in Indonesia.
