The Master's Program in Islamic Education (S2 PAI) at the Graduate School of Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) organized a significant event for its students, a Guest Lecture with the theme "Contemporary Islamic Education Thought." The event took place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in the Faculty Lounge of UNUJA, led by Dr. Umar Manshur, M.A., the Head of the S2 PAI Program.

This Guest Lecture was designed as a platform to broaden students' understanding of Islamic education in the context of the modern era. The theme, "Contemporary Islamic Education Thought," aimed to equip students with deeper knowledge about how Islamic educational thought has developed and adapted in response to the challenges and dynamics of today's social, cultural, and technological environments.

The event featured a highly qualified keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Siswanto, M.Pd., the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at IAIN Madura. In his presentation, Prof. Siswanto discussed various concepts of Islamic education that align with the demands of the modern world, while addressing the challenges within contemporary Islamic education. He also emphasized the importance of a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between religious education and the ever-evolving needs of society.

The enthusiasm of the S2 PAI students at UNUJA was extraordinary. Not only did they listen attentively to the speaker, but they also actively participated in the Q&A session. Several students raised critical questions regarding real-world issues in Islamic education, such as the relevance of Islamic education curricula in light of technological advancements and globalization, as well as how to educate the younger generation to uphold Islamic values amidst societal changes.

This event provided an opportunity for students to gain a broader perspective on various issues related to Islamic education, preparing them to face challenges in the educational field and develop creative solutions with a positive impact.

The Guest Lecture also served as part of the ongoing effort to strengthen the collaboration between Nurul Jadid University (UNUJA) and IAIN Madura. This growing partnership aims to enhance the quality of education and expand research in the field of Islamic education. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that significant progress can be made in the education sector in Indonesia, especially in advancing national development through Islamic education thought and practice that meets the demands of the modern era.

Through this event, the S2 PAI Program at UNUJA hopes to produce graduates who are not only academically proficient but also possess a broad vision and the ability to implement contemporary Islamic education thought in real-world contexts. With a deep understanding of Islamic education, students are expected to play an active role in advancing education in Indonesia and contribute positively to the improvement and development of the nation.

This Guest Lecture was not just an academic event but also a concrete step in shaping the next generation of smart, competitive, and committed individuals who are determined to advance Islamic education in Indonesia.
