UNUJA Postgraduate Lecturer Attains Ministerial Decree as Full Professor in Religious Studies

Banten, Monday (December 15, 2025) — Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) has once again achieved a significant academic milestone at the national level. One of its postgraduate lecturers, Prof. Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., has officially received the Ministerial Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs (KMA) appointing him as Full Professor in the Field of Religious Studies, Period II of 2025. This achievement represents a strategic moment in strengthening the quality of academic human resources while reaffirming UNUJA’s contribution as a pesantren-based higher education institution that remains competitive within the national academic landscape.
The conferment of the Full Professor Ministerial Decree was organized by the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education (DIKTIS), Directorate General of Islamic Education, in collaboration with the Assessment Team for the Promotion of Academic Functional Positions to the Rank of Full Professor in Religious Studies. The ceremony was solemnly held at the Grand Serpong Hotel, Tangerang, Banten, and was attended by 116 Full Professors from various Islamic higher education institutions across Indonesia. Of this number, nine selected representatives, including Prof. Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., received the decree directly from the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A.
Prof. Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., who also serves as Vice Rector III of UNUJA for Research and Community Engagement, was deemed worthy of attaining the highest academic rank due to his sustained commitment to the development of Islamic scholarship, consistent research productivity, and dedication to strengthening the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. This achievement reflects the successful integration of pesantren scholarly traditions with contemporary academic standards, resulting in scientific contributions that are academically rigorous, nationally relevant, and oriented toward the public good.
In his address, the Minister of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., expressed his appreciation and congratulations to all Full Professors who received the Ministerial Decree. He emphasized that the title of Full Professor is not merely an administrative recognition, but rather an intellectual and social responsibility to produce impactful knowledge. Full Professors, particularly in the field of Religious Studies, are expected to serve as academic references, guardians of moderate religious reasoning, and drivers of Islamic thought that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of higher education, the nation, and society at large.
For UNUJA, this achievement brings tangible internal benefits, including the strengthening of the research ecosystem, the enhancement of postgraduate academic quality, and the acceleration of national and international academic collaboration.
