On September 2-3, 2024, the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) once again held the 4th Elementary BootCamp focused on enhancing the skills of writing internationally reputable articles. The event took place over two days, on Monday and Tuesday, at the 3rd floor of the UNUJA Rectorate Building.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector III, Dr. H. Hasan Baharun, M.Pd., who emphasized the importance of mastering the techniques of writing high-quality scientific articles in his opening remarks. "Good article writing not only reflects one’s scholarly capacity but also serves as a gateway for our academic contributions on the international stage. Through this activity, it is hoped that participants can hone their skills to produce scholarly works that can be published in reputable international journals," he stated.
The BootCamp was attended by 47 participants from various professions, including lecturers, students, and teachers. These participants came from several Islamic universities and other educational institutions in Indonesia, such as: (1) Al Maliki Institute Bondowoso, (2) National Technology Institute Malang, (3) Nurul Abror Al-Robbaniyin Islamic College Banyuwangi, (4) Darul Falah Islamic College Bondowoso, (5) Nurul Qarnain Islamic College Jember, (6) Abu Zairi STIS Bondowoso, (7) Al Falah Assunniyah University Kencong, Jember, (8) Jember Islamic University, (9) KH Mukhtar Syafa'at University Banyuwangi, (10) PGRI Argopuro University Jember, and (11) Tunas Luhur High School Paiton Probolinggo.
Throughout the event, participants received various materials and intensive mentoring from the mentoring team led by the Director of the UNUJA Postgraduate Program, Dr. H. Akmal Mundiri, M.Pd. As the head of the mentoring team, Dr. Akmal Mundiri stated that the focus of this activity is to enhance the practical abilities of participants in writing scientific articles that meet international publication standards. "Through this training, we hope participants not only understand good writing techniques but also have the ability to implement them in their scientific works," said Dr. Akmal.
Over the course of two days, participants engaged in various sessions covering scientific writing theory, hands-on article writing practice, and individual consultation sessions with mentors. The event concluded with presentations of the participants' writing, which received direct feedback from mentors for refinement before publication.
With the conclusion of this BootCamp, it is expected that participants will bring the knowledge and experience they gained back to their respective institutions and contribute to improving the quality of scientific publications at Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia
