Paiton, Saturday, January 10, 2026 — The Postgraduate School of Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) organized a Training Program on Writing Articles for Reputable International Journals as a concrete effort to enhance the quality and productivity of lecturers’ scholarly publications. This program was conducted in response to current challenges in the academic world, where publication in reputable international journals has become a key requirement for strengthening accreditation, improving institutional reputation, and gaining global recognition for lecturers’ research quality.
In his opening remarks, the Director of the UNUJA Postgraduate School, Dr. H. Akmal Mundiri, M.Pd., emphasized that the ability to write international journal articles is no longer optional but an essential academic competence that lecturers must possess. He stated that the training aims to equip lecturers with clear and practical understanding to enable them to produce articles that meet the standards of reputable journals. This initiative also represents the implementation of UNUJA’s vision of being Impactful, Excellent, and Prosperous, by fostering high-quality and relevant scholarly works that provide tangible benefits for the advancement of knowledge and society.
Serving as the sole resource person, Prof. Dr. M. Saifuddin Zuhri, S.Th.I., MA., a lecturer at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, delivered the material in a systematic and application-oriented manner. He explained that writing for international journals should begin with a clearly defined research problem, the use of rigorous and appropriate research methods, and the focused presentation of research findings. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of novelty, namely the distinct contribution and originality of a study in comparison with previous research. Participants were also guided on how to select suitable journals, adapt manuscripts to journal guidelines, manage references using citation management tools, and avoid common mistakes that often lead to manuscript rejection.
The training was attended by all UNUJA Postgraduate lecturers from the Master’s programs in Islamic Education (PAI), Islamic Education Management (MPI), Islamic Studies (SI), and the Doctoral Program in Islamic Studies (SI). Participants took part enthusiastically, actively engaged in discussions, and shared real challenges they encounter in writing and submitting articles. Through this training, lecturers are expected not only to understand the theoretical aspects of international journal writing, but also to acquire practical steps that can be directly applied to improve the accuracy, quality, and publication prospects of their scholarly works in reputable international journals.
