UNUJA Supports Probolinggo’s Sustainable Development Strategy in the RPJPD 2025–2045 Academic Discussion

Probolinggo – Nurul Jadid University (UNUJA) reaffirms its commitment to regional development by featuring Sugiono, Ph.D., a graduate faculty lecturer from UNUJA, as the keynote speaker at a strategic academic discussion titled Academic Review on Support for Achieving the Long-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJPD) of Probolinggo Regency for 2025–2045 from the Aspect of Equitable and Quality Regional Development. Organized by the Probolinggo Regency Agency for Regional Planning, Research, and Development (Bappelitbangda), the event took place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Madakaripura Auditorium in the Probolinggo Regency Office.

This event aims to formulate strategies for sustainable and equitable development across the entire Probolinggo Regency. In his opening remarks, M. Sjaiful Efendi, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed appreciation for the crucial role of academics in supporting the implementation of the RPJPD (Long-Term Regional Development Plan). He underscored the importance of collaboration between regional government and higher education institutions to strengthen the foundation for quality and inclusive development.

As the keynote speaker, Sugiono, Ph.D., from UNUJA, provided in-depth academic insights into equitable regional development efforts through a data-driven scientific approach. Sugiono explained that the success of the RPJPD for 2025–2045 depends heavily on an integrated planning approach supported by research and academic studies. "Equitable regional development is not only about infrastructure; it also encompasses enhancing the quality of life for communities in a sustainable and balanced manner throughout the Probolinggo Regency," he stated.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 168 attendees across various sectors, including department heads from local government (PEMDA), district heads, education representatives, and university leaders. The discussion provided a platform for participants to share views and recommendations on fostering fair development that meets the needs of communities across diverse areas.

By involving academics from UNUJA, this activity is expected not only to generate strategic insights for long-term planning but also to strengthen synergy between the government and educational institutions. Going forward, such collaborations are anticipated to continue evolving to support the sustainable growth of Probolinggo Regency for the benefit of future generations.
